CRUZ WINS VALUES VOTER SUMMIT STRAW POLL;
DEM ATTORNEY SAM HOUSTON TO RUN FOR AG?
*****
Good late evening from Austin.
It’s been a long and exhausting weekend.
Thanks for you patience.

I saw a number of MRT readers this weekend in Dallas.
Thank you for reading — and for the kind words. Continue reading “Must Read Texas – October 13, 2013”

Enjoy your Obamacare, America. We did all we could to stop it – but it looks like the RINO party has caved.
If nothing else the “shutdown” exposed Dear Leader for the tyrant he is — with his actions toward American citizens at war memorials and his jack-booted use of the national park service.
This is exactly what we’ll face once leftists totally control our healthcare.

CRUZ POLL RATINGS TAKE A HIT;

HANCE STEPS DOWN AT TEXAS TECH
*****
Good late evening from Dallas, where there is no friendly, annual intrastate wager on the big game this year.
Doing this email on the Friday of Texas-OU weekend is SOMEWHERE between unusually difficult to impossible.
Despite starting at 6am, I was unable to finish before an 8am golf outing benefiting scholarships for the University of Texas.  Nine and a half hours later, the golf event ended.
It’s been a blur ever since, although I was privileged to see both “Smokey the Cannon” and “Bevo” today at different events.

We are just finishing now and we apologize for the terrible lateness of today’s email.
Here’s the short brief:

I HAVEN’T.
IT’S RESPONSIBLE FOR A GOVERNMENT-SHUTDOWN BUT THE NEWS WON’T CALL IT “CONTROVERSIAL.”

QUOTES YOU WON’T SEE IN DMN SUNDAY TALKING POINTS
*I think the Tea Party is a reaction to an imperial White House. The president is elected to negotiate. That’s his job. … It’s true business is better than it was in ’09, but that’s like comparing, I don’t know, leprosy to cancer. I mean, ’09 was horrific. It’s definitely better today, but we’re a long way from any kind of robust recovery.
