Proposition 6: Drowning Us In Debt?

Screenshot from 2013-10-07 20:50:51Moderate Republicans sided with Democrats to raid Texas’ rainy day fund for water projects.  Their priorities are backward — the most important projects should be funded first, not pushed off to the end then punted to the voters.  Note that local representative Giovanni Capriglione fought for transparency and accountability but couldn’t overcome the liberal and irresponsible establishment.

Community Broadband – Illegal in Texas

Community Broadband Preemption MapCommunities are increasingly organizing to build modern communications networks with the goal of bringing inexpensive and fast Internet service to their residents and local businesses.  It is ironic that Texas prides itself on being a haven for freedom but has some of the most restrictive laws among the states regarding who can provide Internet service.  The lone star state protects the incumbent big businesses, stifles the free market, and hampers innovation.  Current Texas laws causes higher prices and lower quality service. Arlington SWAT Raid of Gardeners Raises Questions

968897_590749404282150_303346658_n A 3-acre home in Arlington was recently raided by police for suspicion of growing marijuana.  The 10-hour SWAT operation included: waking the residents out of bed, holding them at gunpoint, handcuffing them, searching through the house and land, cutting down blackberry bushes and other vegetation, and hauling off what the city deemed as trash.  What the raid did not yield however, was any marijuana plants, any marijuana, or any other illegal drugs.   Continue reading “Arlington SWAT Raid of Gardeners Raises Questions”
