Our government is aggressively promoting The Affordable Care Act as the way to provide health care for 30 million Americans who currently have no coverage. By implication, many supporters falsely assume that our beloved government is “giving” health care to everyone for free. Sadly, those who live with this assumption are the least inclined to investigate the realities of this grotesque law. The ultimate and total cost of Obamacare to all Americans, individually and collectively, is beyond our ability to predict. Our current government, through some diabolical combination of ignorance and personal greed, seems hell bent on killing the “goose” that has provided so much “gold”, the economic wealth that has made all Americans so wealthy for so many years. Obamacare threatens to be the final nail in the coffin of the American economy.
Obamacare also promises that you will be able to keep your personal doctor and your current insurance provider. We are further promised that this monstrous law will save more than it costs. Based on everything we now know about this infamous law – the one we had to pass before we could learn what was in it – how convinced are you that there is any chance that any of these promises will come to pass?
Americans over 65 years of age have been covered by Medicare for many years now. While many of us perceive that Medicare is a worthwhile government program, it has been rife with fraud from the beginning and has cost many multiples more than its original promised cost. What’s worse, it is on a suicidal collision course with bankruptcy, together with all the other federal, state and local unfunded liabilities. Having said all that, the reality is that America’s senior citizens are highly dependent on Medicare.
What does Obamacare mean for Medicare and for senior citizens’? In the opinion of Rafael Cruz, refugee of Castro’s Cuban revolution and father of Ted Cruz, “Obamacare is going to destroy the elderly by denying care, by even perhaps denying treatment to people who are in catastrophic circumstances.” From the Washington bureaucrats’ perspective, it’s all too tempting to be driven by the sheer economics of healthcare. Most Medicare dollars are expended during the last three weeks of the lives of the elderly. When faced with bankruptcy, an impersonal panel of policy makers will have no choice but to dramatically cut such spending. Lurking in the wings, of course, is the ever-increasing pressure to make “assisted suicide” an accepted way to mercifully end the suffering of “terminal” cases. The economic argument for this first step into euthanasia will be unavoidable.
The overwhelmingly huge and complex financial burdens of Obamacare will inevitably accelerate our rush to brutal rationing and denial of care for the elderly. This outcome of The Affordable Care Act, by itself, is all the just cause we need to stop this “train wreck” as totally and quickly as possible. Speak up. Speak out. Insist that your senator and your representative be accountable for stopping Obamacare.
Obamacare threatens to be the final nail in the coffin of the American economy. This human and financial disaster must be stopped.
