2014 Primary Voting; on Principle or a Race Horse?

Two absolute requirements for a healthy republic:
Electing the right people (voting) and keeping watch over those elected (government).

1.) Voting: State and federal officials will be determined (elected) in the March 4, 2014 primaries (not necessarily the November general elections).

2.) Keeping watch over government: Does Sen. John Cornyn, a 12 year U.S. Senator, cease to serve Texans? His most recent display of violation of American sovereignty occurred on August 1st where Sen. Cornyn voted in favor of Samantha Power of Massachusetts, to be Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations and Security Council of UN. Ten of fifty senators voted “nay” and stood for sovereignty. And just one week earlier, *22 of 36 (62%) Texas U.S. House of Representatives voted against the Amash Amendment, which would have revoked authority for the blanket collection of records under the Patriot Act. It would also bar the NSA and other agencies from using Section 215 of the Patriot Act to collect records, including telephone call records, that pertain to persons who are not subject to an investigation under Section 215” of the Patriot Act.

When voters go to the ballot box in March 2014, they should refrain from the “race horse” or “popular candidate” strategy. Don’t let someone convince you that you will “waste” your vote if you vote on principle, as opposed to the winning race horse. Unlike a $2 bet on which horse comes in 1st, electing a U.S. senator has winning or losing consequences long after the $2 bet has paid off. The consequences last for six (6) years and the losses can add up to more than $2.

There is another choice. Bookmark and visit this website often between now and Feb. 18th (early voting) http://www.politics1.com/tx.htm . Vet the candidates, and then keep watch over their voting record, not their town hall speech. Why would you waste your vote on someone that does not represent your principles? That is throwing your vote away. In 2012, of the registered voters in Collin County, only 11% of GOP and only 3% of the Democrat voters showed up at the primary ballot box. Where do you fall?

Rights are like teeth; only floss the ones you want to keep.

Fight for the rights you care enough to keep, and sell the others to the highest bidder.
