Generation Joshua

Founded in 2003, the Generation Joshua  youth organization aims to encourage young people to learn about and become involved in government, history, civics and politics.  Generation Joshua seeks to educate students on the history and founding of the United States of America, while also providing hands-on opportunities for students to be involved in government and politics today.

The youth that travel with North Texas Citizens’ Lobby to Austin are organized under the name Students Active in the Leadership of Tomorrow (SALT) and are one of the local Generation Joshua chapters.  The current adult sponsor is Linda Townson who co-ordinates their participation in the North Texas Citizens’ Lobby and the McKinney Tea Party.

Recently Judge Keith Self and Commissioner Chris Hill invited them to the Collin County Commissioners Court for an introduction to county government.  The event was deemed a complete success for students and their parents.  We express our gratitude to Judge Self and Commissioner Hill for extending the invitation and providing a rather unique education format for our future leaders and their parents.
